Dowagiac — 12 local students have been selected for recognition by teachers and faculty for their outstanding performance in school for December and January.

Nominated by teachers and faculty from their respective schools in the Dowagiac Union Schools district, Remi Reyna, Alison Zink, Brayden McDonnel, Bailey Yore, Sophia Goins and Robert Wares were acknowledged as December Students of the Month and Justin Treadwell, Caspen Phillips, Ava Reyna, Antonio Huizar, Aurora Nutt and Izzy Plank were honored as January Students of the Month. The students received plaques and T-shirts with their names on them for their accomplishments and attitudes in the classroom.
